For the prospective development, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Oracle Energy’s Green Hydrogen Project in Thatta, Sindh Province, Pakistan, Oracle Power and China Electric Power and Technology (CET) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU with CET is intended to hasten the development of Oracle Energy’s Green Hydrogen Project, which includes the building of a hybrid renewable energy production and storage facility that combines 700MW of solar and 500MW of wind power, as well as battery storage. CET is mandated to finance, build, operate, and maintain large renewable power generation projects both inside and outside of China.
When fully operational, the proposed Green Hydrogen Production facility, one of the largest such projects in Asia, would create around 150,000 kg of hydrogen per day (55,000 tons per year).
With Thyssenkrupp, a German multinational engineering business, feasibility studies on the potential generation of green hydrogen and green ammonia began in Q4 2022. The first results are expected in Q2 2023.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) follows Oracle Energy’s successful acquisition of State land through a lengthy lease for 30 years with the Government of Sindh for a land package totaling 7,000 acres (about 28.3 km2).
