Ørsted has signed a 15-year contract with Ta San Shang Marine for the manufacture of a service operation vessel for Ørsted’s Changhua offshore wind farms.
The contract represents the first-ever SOV in Taiwan and Asia Pacific.
Port of Taichung will be used as the base port for the POV, scheduled for delivery in early 2022.
The SOV will be used to provide O&M services for the Changhua offshore wind farms, which will be located 35 to 60 kilometers from the coastline.

The new service operation vessel will guarantee ultimate workability and efficiency of the daily O&M performance offshore, and thus, the reliability and availability of the wind turbines, as it’s built to fit the complicated and harsh environment in the Taiwan strait.
