OWC, an offshore wind consultancy, has promoted Nguyen Dinh to a newly formed position of head of hydrogen and Principal in Ireland and Vietnam, as the business continues to extend its renewables service portfolio.
Dinh, who has experience in numerous sectors of green hydrogen and a combined 20 years of experience, including several years in floating and bottom-fixed offshore wind, will be located in OWC’s newly built Cork, Ireland, office. He will also serve as principal for OWC’s Vietnam projects.

Nguyen will serve in a dual capacity at OWC. Along with his work as head of hydrogen, he will maintain ties with local and international developers and other stakeholders, maximizing his impact in Ireland and Vietnam’s offshore wind and energy transformation.
Nguyen’s prominence in Irish offshore wind stems from his role as principal investigator on industry-led research and development projects at the MaREI Centre in hydrogen from offshore wind, offshore wind substructures, offshore power lines, and floating wind pilot. He led a multidisciplinary research team comprised of professionals from ten top firms in six countries that successfully established Ireland’s national offshore wind energy blueprint for 2020–2050, including hydrogen generation, beginning in 2017.

Additionally, Nguyen has been essential in the development of Vietnam’s national offshore wind program, which he has aided since 2015. His responsibilities include directing international experience reviews, making policy recommendations, zoning and maritime planning, conducting resource assessments, evaluating variation, datasets, and infrastructures, and conducting training.
