Peninsula Clean Energy has agreed to purchase 245 megawatts of power from three California wind projects, a major complement to an increasing solar generation portfolio that will help the agency achieve its target of providing reliable all-renewable, emission-free power by 2025.
The additional generation of wind would put Peninsula Clean Energy closer to meeting its target of supplying renewable-only generation 24/7 by 2025. It will complement solar generation – including supply from newly commissioned 200-MW Wright Solar and 100-MW Mustang Two Whirlaway projects – particularly during colder months and other periods when solar power has historically declined.
