Plug Power and Johnson Matthey have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will create a roadmap to accelerate the joint development of high-performance electrolyser technology that is more durable, performs better, and uses less energy than current systems.

JM’s advanced materials will be developed, validated, and integrated into Plug Power’s leading electrolyser systems as part of the collaboration. The companies will also look into creating a closed loop recycling system for the platinum group metals (pgm) that are used as catalysts in these systems.
