The Lexus Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Concept, or ROV Concept as it is more commonly known, was unveiled by Toyota’s luxury brand. It’s an off-road leisure vehicle powered by hydrogen.

As a result, the new Lexus ROV Concept features a hydrogen-fueled propulsion system with a combustion engine rather than a fuel cell electrical system.

Under the hood, however, is a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine powered by, which produces a sound using a thermal system.

Although Lexus does not name it, such technology is most likely Toyota-developed, as it is found in several of its competitors’ vehicles. It is rumored that it could be commercialized as early as 2025.

The ROV Concept now has a distinct design that sets it apart from the other models in the family. It sports an L-shaped daytime running light and a grille evocative of the brand’s previous models.

Furthermore, because the wheels are not bodied, the suspension is exposed. The photographs also show off-road tires, roll bars, a removable windscreen, an auxiliary LED lighting module on the roof, and an auxiliary LED lighting module on the top.

Inside, though, there is a huge analog lap counter, as well as a digital display and a synthetic leather sports steering wheel with integrated paddles. Leather sports seats, harnesses, a tiny gearbox selector, and a handbrake handle are also included.
