PowerTap has submitted a municipal siting proposal for its Gen3 modular hydrogen generation and dispensing device in Northern California (“PowerTap Gen3 Unit”).
By early October 2021, the Company intends to submit municipal siting proposals for two more locations.
The Company will be able to install PowerTap Gen3 devices at three existing gas stations in Northern California, two in Humboldt County and one in Monterey County, provided the application is approved. Hydrogen production and distribution is returning to Humboldt County, according to history. Humboldt State University constructed the first and, to this day, the northernmost hydrogen production and dispensing unit in the state in 2008.
From pre-application to municipality approval, including planning/site design review and approval, preparation of construction papers, and final construction permits, it takes around 14 months to complete entitlement and construction permit approval. With this schedule in place, the Company expects to start commissioning and installing the PowerTap Gen3 Units in California in late 2022.
