ProCon Wind Energy has won the installation and commissioning of the electrical scope of the transition pieces for the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm.

This wind farm will consist of 80 wind turbines a kilometer apart and 12 to 20 kilometers off the coast of France. When it goes into service in 2022, it can generate enough power to provide 20 per cent of the Loire-Atlantique department’s electricity consumption.

“We are proud to announce that our team has closed a deal with Eiffage Métal, concerning the electrical scope above for the first offshore wind farm off the French coast,” ProCon Wind said in its social media update.

The electrical outfitting of the TPs will take place at Eiffage Métal’s site in Hoboken before the TPs will be transferred to Saint-Nazaire where they will be installed.

The company has already started the work expected to run until Q2 2021.
