Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi-do, has committed to collaborate with Kyungdong Navien and Mikopower to build a hydrogen city in Pyeongtaek, and has resolved to retain a cooperative structure.
The agreement states that Kyungdong Navien, which has clean air-conditioning technology utilizing hot water, and Meco Power, which has next-generation hydrogen fuel cell (SOFC) technology, will create new technologies used in hydrogen cities and zero-energy structures.
The SOFC, which has a high electricity and hot water production efficiency and employs hot water generated from fuel cells not only for heating purposes but also for cooling and ventilation, boosts the economic viability of hydrogen cities and zero-energy structures.
The city intends to test the technology in hydrogen cities and public buildings before attempting to support corporate expansion regulations, such as application to private structures.
Meanwhile, Kyungdong Navien is growing associated business locations such clean air conditioning systems in the Seotan Industrial Complex, while Mico Power plans to invest in a hydrogen fuel cell mass manufacturing line in Brain City.
