Quantum Technology has completed the engineering design for Phase 1 of an ambitious project to deliver green hydrogen for light and heavy vehicles along the key Canadian route.
Over 40 refueling stations are strategically located between Quebec City, Quebec and Vancouver, British Columbia as part of the project. The stations will receive liquid hydrogen from four hydrogen liquefiers, all of which are powered by green electricity and are distributed across different provinces.
By 2024, the green hydrogen supply that will be produced in Phase 1 of the project will have replaced about 2,000 barrels of oil per day (280 tons of daily avoided gas/diesel). As the transportation infrastructure improves, the capacity will expand. The project is valued at $300 million Canadian dollars. Quantum Technology is in active talks with power and transportation firms about loading the facilities and distribution network when they go online.
