Shanghai REFIRE Technology has expanded its PRISMA brand of fuel cell systems. The business stated during this week’s 6th International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Congress (FCVC 2021) in Shanghai that its all-new hydrogen fuel cell system PRISMA 12+ will increase the power and efficiency of heavy-duty trucks.

The new system combines REFIRE’s most recent technology developments, which were enabled by increased collaborations throughout the company’s supply chain and will result in cost savings.

PRISMA 12+ is designed to address the growing performance issues faced by heavy-duty fuel cell trucks deployed in a variety of application scenarios. The system’s efficiency improvements equal to a net 10% improvement over prior models, with a 10 kW reduction in balance of plant (BOP) power consumption. PRISMA 12+ is meant to operate for at least 30,000 hours without degrading performance by more than 10% — a figure comparable to that of heavy-duty internal combustion engines.

TÜV Rheinland, the world’s largest provider of testing, inspection, and certification services, presented REFIRE with the first-ever Verification of Performance Certificate for the PRISMA 12+ system during a ceremony at FCVC. TÜV Rheinland was able to verify that the performance met or surpassed stated levels through benchmarking testing.

TÜV Rheinland is committed to helping the industry develop product benchmarking performance data.”
