Shanghai REFIRE Technology will present its hydrogen fuel cell system PRISMA XII+ at IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich, which includes the company’s newest technological developments and provides heavy-duty trucks with increased power and efficiency.
REFIRE’s PRISMA XII+ is making its European premiere with the help of eCap Mobility, a strategic partner for the European market. Since late 2019, the two businesses have been working together to build rapidly deployable and long-term hydrogen mobility end use cases.
Fuel cells are a particularly appealing alternative for heavy-duty vehicles, as they offer longer range and faster refueling, as well as a higher load-carrying capacity, as the industry accelerates its transition to decarbonisation.
The PRISMA XII+ fuel cell system is designed to address the growing number of performance difficulties faced by heavy-duty trucks in a variety of applications. The system’s efficiency improvements equal to a net 10% improvement over prior models, with a 10 kW reduction in balance of plant (BOP) power consumption. The PRISMA XII+ is meant to run for at least 30,000 hours without losing more than 10% of its performance, putting it on par with heavy-duty internal combustion engines.
