Hyvia, the joint venture between the Renault Group and Plug Power, has introduced the Renault Master Van H2-TECH in Spain, showcasing the French manufacturer’s green hydrogen-powered van.

Designed for intensive commercial applications, this vehicle offers a spacious 12 m³ cargo capacity, allowing for efficient transportation of goods and packages. With a quick refueling time of just five minutes and a range of 400 kilometers, the Renault Master Van H2-TECH aims to revolutionize the commercial transportation sector.

Equipped with an interior height of 1.80 meters in the cargo area, the van facilitates seamless organization and delivery of merchandise and packages. To showcase its capabilities, Hyvia and Plug Power will be hosting test events in Spain, including Barcelona on May 30, Zaragoza on May 31, and Madrid on June 1.

Production of the Renault Master Van H2-TECH takes place in France, with Plug Power handling fuel cell assembly and testing at the Hyvia plant in Flins, and fuel cell integration near Paris. The van features a 30 kW Plug fuel cell, a 33 kWh battery, and 6.4-kilogram capacity hydrogen tanks, divided into four 1.6-kilogram tanks.

Plug Power’s ProGen fuel cell engines, renowned for their heavy-duty applications, are sought after by original equipment manufacturers aiming to adopt sustainable fuel cell technology. The company boasts an impressive track record, with over 60,000 fuel cell units in mobility applications worldwide, serving clients such as Amazon, Walmart, Carrefour, BMW, and Home Depot.

The introduction of the Renault Master Van H2-TECH marks a significant step toward decarbonizing the commercial vehicle sector. By utilizing green hydrogen as a clean energy source, the van offers reduced emissions and contributes to sustainable transportation solutions.
