Arsenio Salvador, the director of the Repsol petrochemical complex in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), confirmed the company’s participation in the HydRIC project.
HydRIC is the green hydrogen plant being developed in Puertollano in conjunction with RIC Energy, and to be located in the La Nava industrial estate.
A 10-kilometer hydroduct that will carry renewable hydrogen from the new facility to the Repsol Industrial Complex in Puertollano marks the project’s completion.
The goal of the project is to build a renewable hydrogen production facility with the capacity to scale up to more than 100 megawatts. The plant will start out with a 30 megawatt electrolyzer.
The photovoltaic plants that RIC Energy produces in the area will power the electrolyser. 4,500 tons of renewable hydrogen may be produced annually by the plant with the 30 megawatt electrolyser.
