The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has announced its endorsement of the CryoSafe-42 project by N2 Tec, which aims to develop a tank container of UN T75 type for the temporary storage and transportation of cooled liquid hydrogen.

The container, featuring screen-vacuum insulation, will facilitate the movement of liquid hydrogen via sea, river, road, and rail transport. RS is responsible for approving the technical documentation for the tank container’s use in multimodal transportation and providing consulting services for its design, manufacturing, and pilot testing. The project aligns with international standards for the transportation of dangerous goods, as approved by the United Nations.
