Russian President Vladimir Putin said, during a meeting with Italian representatives, that Russia could become one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of hydrogen by 2035.
Putin went on to say that the concept of developing hydrogen energy is now in the works. By 2060, the country intends to be carbon neutral. The Murmansk wind power plant, for example, will generate green hydrogen for export to European countries.
The Russian president stated that an Italian company has already invested 500 million euros in the construction of wind farms in the Stavropol Territory, Rostov Region, and Murmansk Region. Vladimir Putin had previously stated during a meeting with Italian business leaders that Russia considers Italy to be one of its most important economic partners.
