Russia intends to investigate the manufacture, use, and exportation of hydrogen energy to Asian and European markets.
This has been approved by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who was presented with strategic efforts to achieve hydrogen-related goals.
Among the strategic objectives will be the launch of pilot projects for the generation of low-carbon hydrogen, the formation of consortia for the production of equipment and components, and the development of infrastructure for hydrogen storage and transportation.
With hydrogen diving deeper into hydrogen export prospects, international cooperation might be formed to investigate this.
In addition, Russia plans to establish at least three hydrogen manufacturing clusters. The northwest will become specialized in the export of hydrogen to European countries, as well as the execution of steps to reduce the carbon footprint of export-oriented businesses.
In addition to establishing hydrogen infrastructure in the transportation and energy sectors, Vostochny in Eastern Russia will supply hydrogen to Asian countries. Finally, the Arctic cluster will seek to deliver low-carbon electricity to Russian Arctic industries.
To encourage the adoption of hydrogen technologies, the government will consider further support measures. Industry representatives will have access to special investment contracts, product manufacturing subsidies, and remuneration for scientific research costs.
