RWE Renewables Japan and Kyuden Mirai Energy have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly explore possibilities for developments in Japan’s offshore fixed-bottom wind projects.
The two companies have recently signed a Joint Bidding Agreement on the basis of the cooperation agreement, in order to conduct a full-scale feasibility study for the offshore wind projects planned off the coast of Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture.
RWE will continue with formal public tender plans to be coordinated by the central government in compliance with the Offshore Wind Promotion Law, as well as the Environmental Impact Assessment filing process.
The two companies will work together, using their respective know-how and abilities, to contribute to the development of an offshore wind power market in Japan and abroad, and to the realization of a sustainable society, while at the same time gaining local community awareness.
