In order to jointly create reliable and substantial clean ammonia (green and blue ammonia) supply chains in Asia, Europe, and the US, RWE, LOTTE CHEMICAL Corporation (LOTTE), and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) have formed a strategic alliance.

A Joint Study Agreement (JSA) has been signed by RWE, LOTTE, and MC as part of a collaboration to create a sizable integrated clean ammonia production and export project in Port of Corpus Christi, Texas, the United States.

In accordance with the JSA, the partners agreed to work together to investigate the creation of a sizable ammonia factory that combines the production of both green and blue ammonia and makes use of shared infrastructure for exports abroad, with an emphasis on Asia and Europe. The Parties aim for a gradual build-out of manufacturing capacity with various production units and initial production by 2030. The project is expected to produce up to 10 million tons of pure ammonia annually when it reaches the final build-out stage. The Port of Corpus Christi Authority and I are negotiating the purchase of the land needed for the project. To build the project, the partners are combining their complementary areas of expertise.

The South Texas region and other earlier initiatives to construct significant clean ammonia plants are complemented by this JSA.
