Sabancı Holding’s Corporate Venture Capital Fund, Sabancı Ventures, has made a strategic investment in GRZ Technologies SA, a Switzerland-based company specializing in hydrogen storage solutions.

Sabancı Holding, a key player committed to shaping a sustainable future, aims to fortify its position in the early stages of the green hydrogen ecosystem. This investment aligns with the broader strategy of contributing to global sustainability and signifies a pivotal step towards achieving the group’s zero-emission targets.

GRZ Technologies SA, the recipient of Sabancı Ventures’ latest investment, is renowned for its expertise in hydrogen storage solutions. As hydrogen emerges as a crucial player in the transition to clean energy, effective storage solutions become paramount. GRZ’s technological advancements in this field position it as a key player in driving the hydrogen economy forward.

Following Sabancı Ventures’ initial foray into green hydrogen with an investment in Singapore-based SungreenH2, the investment in GRZ Technologies SA underscores the Sabancı Group’s commitment to global growth in the green hydrogen sector. This move aligns with the overarching vision of Sabancı Group, encapsulated in the “Sabancı of the World” initiative.

Gökhan Eyigün, President of Sabancı Holding Strategy and Business Development Group, emphasizes the significance of prioritizing sustainable living. He affirms that investments contributing to a sustainable future take precedence within the Sabancı community promise. The venture into green hydrogen aligns with this commitment, showcasing the group’s dedication to environmental stewardship.

GRZ Technologies SA’s CEO, Noris Gallandat, expresses enthusiasm about the strategic partnership with Sabancı. He anticipates that this collaboration will propel GRZ to new heights, presenting unprecedented opportunities for their innovative technology. The alignment of goals between GRZ and Sabancı positions the latter as a fitting partner for achieving market expansion and commercializing cutting-edge solutions.

Sabancı Holding’s investments in SungreenH2 and GRZ underscore its determination to be a pioneer in future technologies globally. By actively participating in the growth journeys of startups and investing in strategic partnerships, Sabancı solidifies its vision as a developer of future technologies, setting itself apart from being merely a consumer.

As the green hydrogen landscape continues to evolve, Sabancı’s investments in pioneering companies like GRZ Technologies SA contribute not only to its corporate growth but also to the broader objective of fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
