SANY Hydrogen, the hydrogen energy subsidiary of global heavy machinery giant SANY Heavy Industry, has unveiled the world’s largest single hydrogen electrolyzer.

The S Series 3,000-standard-cubic-meter square electrolyzer marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of clean energy technologies, signaling a paradigm shift in the industry and underlining SANY’s commitment to driving the transition towards sustainable solutions.

The grand launch of the S Series electrolyzer aligns with global efforts to transition away from fossil fuels, as highlighted in the latest COP28 where strategies for phasing out fossil fuels gained endorsement. SANY’s move contributes tangibly to climate action, addressing critical challenges faced by the hydrogen production sector, including production costs, maintenance requirements, and performance consistency.

The S Series electrolyzer not only claims the title of the world’s largest but also sets a new industry benchmark. With a capability to produce 3,000 standard cubic meters of hydrogen per hour using renewable electricity, it addresses key challenges by significantly lowering system costs, improving green electricity utilization rates, and reducing maintenance costs. The operation current density of 10,000A/m2 ensures high production efficiency, emphasizing the practicality of large-scale applications.

This innovation builds upon the strengths of the S Series lineup, introducing a compact footprint, modular construction, increased current density, and pressurized operation. SANY Hydrogen’s breakthroughs, including the establishment of a high-capacity alkaline electrolyzer production line, showcase the company’s dedication to advancing core technologies. The GW-GRADE offering capitalizes on these strengths, propelling mass production and utilization of green hydrogen.

Xiang Wenbo, rotating chairman of SANY, emphasized that the launch of the GW-Grade solution and large-capacity electrolyzer marks a new chapter in SANY’s hydrogen technology development. The company’s commitment to globalization, intelligence, digital centrality, and low-carbon transformation aligns with its strategy of providing new solutions for various scaled hydrogen production scenarios, covering wind to green power.

With an ambitious goal to become China’s largest provider of integrated hydrogen solutions within five years, SANY is strategically positioning itself to lead the global industry transformation. The comprehensive hydrogen industry chain, encompassing green production, storage, transportation, and refueling equipment, underscores the company’s dedication to supporting China’s 2030/2060 “Dual Carbon” goals.

In the future, SANY Hydrogen remains committed to bolstering research and development, contributing to the global green energy transition, and playing a pivotal role in the popularization and application of clean energy solutions. The S Series electrolyzer stands as a testament to SANY’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and driving positive change in the hydrogen landscape.
