Speaking at the International Conference on Tropical Sciences, he highlighted the potential for technological advancements to make hydrogen a comprehensive energy source. The focus is on electrolysis, a process that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen, which could lead to more economical and eco-friendly energy solutions.
Sarawak is actively pursuing green hydrogen and other renewable energy initiatives. The premier emphasized the state’s investment in education and science to enhance the success of these projects. By fostering an environment of technological growth, Sarawak aims to replace fossil fuels with sustainable alternatives.
In support of Sarawak’s efforts, Minister Chang Lih Kang reaffirmed the federal government’s dedication to sustainable development. The emphasis is on conservation and the fair use of natural resources, with policies that protect Malaysia’s natural heritage. These measures reflect a commitment to biodiversity conservation and sustainable resource utilization as outlined in the National Policy on Biological Diversity 2016–2025.
