The Institute of Oil and Gas of Siberian Federal University opened an interindustry research and production center of innovative technologies “SIDERA”.

On its basis, the specialists of INiG together with the experts of Russian Hydrogen are engaged in implementation of hydrogen technologies in various production sectors, development of power electronics, as well as increasing the profitability of oil and gas fields.

Thus, there are already working prototypes of hydrogen-powered power plants of their own design, which allow increasing the mileage of an electric car by at least two times (about 1000 km). The company plans to technologically improve the existing developments by joint efforts with the university and subsequent serial production. At the moment we are already working on our own modifications of passenger and passenger electric vehicles with hydrogen power units.

“The Oil and Gas Institute has always been active in research in the field of fuel improvement. Many companies specializing in hydrocarbon production are already engaged in their own developments in this area. That is, the oil and gas industry, oddly enough, is very interested in the development and implementation of hydrogen technology. As for the use of units using this type of fuel, now we are developing a domestic vehicle that will be equipped with such power plant,” said Roman Ayupov, Director of SibFU Institute of Oil and Gas, about the project.

There are several other projects in the pipeline: fuel cells (electrochemical generators) of various capacities, hydrogen generators using various raw materials, hydrogen refueling stations, an electric tractor, and a waterbus. In addition, software is being developed, including a vehicle autopiloting system and a road surface condition monitoring system.

We would like to add that Russian Hydrogen is engaged in research and development of advanced technologies related to fuel cells and hydrogen, and the implementation of these technologies in industry, transport, and urban infrastructure.
