Swire Blue Ocean (SBO) has secured a contract with MHI Vestas to ship and install wind turbine generators at the Seagreen offshore wind farm.

MHI Vestas has chosen Swire Blue Ocean for the transport and deployment of wind turbine generators at the offshore wind farm Seagreen in Scotland, for which SSE Renewables and Total entered FID on 3 June 2020.

After construction, the plant will be the largest offshore wind farm in Scotland, meeting the electricity needs of about one million households. Seagreen is situated 27 kilometers off Scotland’s east coast, in the deepest waters of the offshore wind sector that use fixed foundations.

SBO expects 114 V164-10 MW turbines to begin deployment in the second half of 2021.

“We are delighted that MHI Vestas has selected SBO for the installation of wind turbine generators at Seagreen. We look forward to a successful collaboration with our project partners as we develop and execute this exciting project located at a complex site. Operating on difficult sites is one of our key competences.”

Jacob Gregersen, CCO Swire Blue Ocean.

“This agreement between MHI Vestas and SBO for the Seagreen project exemplifies the strong and cooperative partnership that we have developed over the years. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration and ensuring a safe and successful execution of the project.”
