TES, a global leader in green energy, is progressing on its Green Energy Hub in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
The development includes a liquid CO2 export terminal aimed at reducing carbon emissions by capturing CO2 from industrial sites. This initiative is part of TES’s plan to become the foremost producer of e-NG, which is electric natural gas made from green hydrogen.
As a founder of the Carbon Management Alliance in Germany, TES supports the integration of Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage technologies. This initiative focuses on innovative cross-industry solutions and sustainable carbon management. The CO2 export terminal in Wilhelmshaven is central to TES’s efforts, serving as a major hub for receiving, storing, and exporting CO2 to storage facilities or regions with ample renewable energy.
TES’s Chief Operating Officer, Hugo Dijkgraaf, highlighted the project’s importance for Germany’s industrial decarbonization. The terminal connects CO2 emitters across Germany and Europe using existing rail networks, eliminating the need for significant new infrastructure. CO2 from multiple regions can be transported to Wilhelmshaven, with storage options in countries like Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the UK. The terminal’s design allows for flexible ship-based exports, connecting future sites efficiently.
