According to the FKI’s analysis of hydrogen economy numbers from last month, the government roadmap calls for a total of 65,000 hydrogen passenger vehicles to be delivered next year, but only around 17,000 hydrogen passenger cars will be delivered (27 percent ). There are 117 (38%) hydrogen refueling stations, which is fewer than half of the initial aim (310). The goal price for hydrogen for next year is 6,000 won per kilogram, while the current price is around 8,400 won, which is close to when the plan was released. The hydrogen sector is also reliant on the United States and Japan for essential parts and materials, according to the research, and its worldwide competitiveness in hydrogen technology patents is poor.

According to the FKI, the future administration should promote the hydrogen economy with policy consistency, such as designating the resuscitation of the hydrogen economy as a significant national objective in order to promote the hydrogen ecosystem. Furthermore, because 100% domestic production of clean hydrogen is impractical, the deficit must be imported.
