Egyptian Cabinet approves establishment of National Council for Green Hydrogen

As part of the nation’s strategy to encourage sustainable social and economic growth, the Egyptian Cabinet has approved the establishment of the National Council for Green Hydrogen to encourage green investment.

A Cabinet statement on Wednesday stated that the organization, formally known as the National Council for Green Hydrogen and its Derivatives, also strives to maintain the nation’s regional and global competitiveness.

The ministries of electricity and renewable energy, petroleum and mineral resources, finance, the environment, and the executive director of Egypt’s Sovereign Fund will be among its members. It will be led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.


South Tyrol and Puglia partner on mobility and hydrogen

The program agreement for cooperation with the Puglia Region in the area of sustainable public transportation, and in particular for the development of hydrogen, has been approved by the provincial council of Bolzano. Technologies for zero-emission modes of transportation have advanced quickly in recent years.

Buses powered by hydrogen and batteries are currently the two most promising business models; however, we usually refer to electric buses because the energy storage method makes a difference. Arno Kompatscher, the president of the province, will sign the agreement with the Puglia Region, which wants to conduct collaborative research projects in this area.


CaetanoBus and CME compete to deliver Metro do Porto hydrogen buses

Metro do Porto unveiled the two rival consortia that are in the running to construct a green hydrogen production facility using clean energy and provide 12 buses powered by this renewable gas for the new metroBus lines from Porto.

The partnership comprised of CaetanoBus, PRF, BrightCity, DST Solar, and Dourogás Natural is competing against the consortium led by CME – Construction and Electromechanical Maintenance side by side in the semi-final.

In order to timely provide the evaluation report and a proposal for an award to the Board of Directors of Metro do Porto, the tender jury is already evaluating the proposals, according to a statement from the firm.
