HSE adds two years to the Fastway hydrogen fleet’s delay

Red tape has grounded two thirds of the flagship hydrogen fleet that Go-Ahead debuted on Brighton & Hove’s Fastway services last summer.

Wrights Hydroliner Kite single-deckers, which have a longer range than battery-electric buses, were hailed as the ZE future. However, the infrastructure for liquid hydrogen has already been constructed, but it cannot be used until the Health & Safety Executive gives its approval. The application has been pending for two years.

Greenzo Energy launches indigenously manufactured 1MW alkaline electrolyser in India

Greenzo Energy India, a company that provides green hydrogen solutions, has successfully launched the first indigenously manufactured one megawatt (MW) alkaline electrolyser in India.

The official press release states that the 250 MW Electrolyser is an indigenous and self-sufficient solution to India’s energy demands because it uses no components imported from landlocked nations.

Habonim receives approval certificate for hydrogen valve

Habonim receives a Type Approval Certificate for its H29 Ultra-High-Pressure Hydrogen Ball Valve from Bureau Veritas.

The H29 valves are designed with H2 containers (MEGC) in mind. These are essential components of fuel tanks found in electric-propelled ships as well as other H2-powered boats. This certification, which was given in compliance with Bureau Veritas NR 678, attests to the H29 valve’s reliability and safety at pressures as high as 700 bar.

NZTC provides funding for electrolyser technology

A funding opportunity has been provided by the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) to expedite the advancement of electrolyser technology.

A grant of up to £500,000 will be divided among two to five selected candidates; successful projects will get funding to advance their electrolyser technology towards pilot or prototype status.

The funding, which was granted as part of the NZTC’s Energy Hubs Project, is anticipated to support initiatives to improve electrolyte efficiency, which is seen to be essential to the operation of these hubs.
