Kentucky EEC OEP publishes hydrogen feasibility study findings

The findings of a year-long feasibility study conducted by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s (EEC) Office of Energy Policy (OEP) have been made public. This study has the potential to enhance Kentucky’s hydrogen economy, lower freight emissions, and foster leadership in the manufacturing and transportation industries.

The Hydrogen-Powered Truck Operations in Kentucky Feasibility Study was completed by Lexington-based engineering firm HDR, Inc. with assistance from Kentucky’s regional Hydrogen Hub Workgroup. It looks at the possibility of hydrogen-powered truck operations in Kentucky and identifies potential funding sources as well as opportunities and constraints.
