Panasonic launches new hydrogen fuel cell generator
Panasonic Corporation announced that its Electric Works Company will introduce a new pure hydrogen fuel cell generator in Europe, Australia, and China in October 2024. This fuel cell generator produces electricity through a chemical reaction between high-purity hydrogen and oxygen in the air.
A 5 kW pure hydrogen fuel cell generator (PH1; single-phase, three-wire type) was introduced by Panasonic in October of 2021. For international markets, the company will now introduce a new product called PH3 (DC type), in an effort to fully expand its hydrogen business outside of Japan.
As a cogeneration system, the PH3 that will be launched has the capacity to produce up to 10 kW of DC electricity and 8.2 kW of heat, which can be utilized to heat water to about 60ÂșC.
China Energy and CRRC wrap up test of hydrogen-powered shunting locomotive
China Energy Group and CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive have finished the first-ever milestone test of China’s high-power hydrogen energy-powered shunting locomotive. At Sidaoliu Station on the Xinshuo Railway Bazhun Line, on March 28, the locomotive successfully towed a 10,000-ton load consisting of 105 C80 trucks over a two-kilometer length. This test proved that the locomotive could run primarily on hydrogen, which is a major step forward for China’s heavy-haul railways in using high-power hydrogen energy technology.
