Training hydrogen vessel ALBA completes first bunkering at 350 bar

The first hydrogen refueling at 350 bars was a major milestone for the ALBA, a cutting-edge hydrogen-powered training vessel built for the Lycée Maritime de Bastia. This first bunkering, which marked an important step towards operational readiness, took place at the Fos-sur-Mer facility within the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.

Deputy director Julien Cometto of Lycée Maritime Bastia oversaw the operation, which included cooperation from CORSICA SOLE, EUROPE TECHNOLOGIES, and EODev. Since the vessel’s launch on June 26, 2024, the MAURIC consortium, Alternatives Energies La Rochelle, CHANTIER NAVAL GATTO, Centre Sécurité de la DIRM Méditerranée, and Bureau Veritas France have all made significant contributions to the regulatory testing phase.
