TotalEnergies has joined the H2Accelerate initiative, which is dedicated to accelerating the implementation of green hydrogen in the transportation industry.
The partnership, which includes Daimler, IVECO, OMV, Shell, and Volvo, will work together to establish the circumstances for the widespread adoption of hydrogen trucks in Europe.
The ten-year scale-up is intended to begin with small groups of clients who are willing to commit to hydrogen-based transport right away.
These fleets will operate in regional clusters and in European high-capacity corridors with extensive refueling station coverage.
These clusters can then be integrated over the course of the decade to create a genuinely pan-European network.
TotalEnergies has joined the organization as a crucial future green hydrogen provider and owner of hydrogen refueling infrastructure for trucks.
John Wilson, Vice-President, Gas Mobility at TotalEnergies Marketing and Services, said, “The environmental and practical benefits of driving on hydrogen make it one of the most promising alternative fuels for tomorrow’s sustainable mobility, particularly in long-haul road transport.
“To meet the 2030 emission reduction targets for this segment, we must work together across the hydrogen value chain to ensure that this energy, the vehicles and the required infrastructure are in place as soon as possible.
