Hydrofuel Canada and Solar Fuels Group ink golden hydrogen production process partnership deal
For their novel new golden hydrogen generation process, Hydrofuel Canada and the Solar Fuels Group at the University of Toronto have inked a $1 million, two-year licensing and partnership agreement.
The Chemistry Department at the University of Toronto is home to the Solar Fuels Group. The research team is well known for using light engineering to catalytically change molecules like nitrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, and water into a variety of high-value fuels and common compounds. It is collaborating with Hydrofuel Canada, a business that specializes in offering low-cost, last-mile green ammonia and H2 solutions to its clients. Hydrofuel Canada is situated in Mississauga, Canada.
Jericho Energy and partners to build hydrogen steam plant
Jericho Energy Ventures and two other businesses will build, install, and maintain a hydrogen steam plant that can permanently eliminate the CO2 equivalent of 5,000 automobiles.
Hydrogen Technologies, Jericho’s subsidiary, designed the HSP3000’s Dynamic Combustion Chamber boilers. EXOGEN Hydrogen Solutions will sell the scalable, container-sized units, built by Sofinter Group, as an integrated product including hydrogen generation and storage. In a July 13 research note, Atrium Research analyst Nicholas Cortellucci said the product and cooperation should boost Hydrogen Technologies’ second-half sales promises.
IMI Critical Engineering to supply electrolyzer for South West hydrogen facility
IMI VIVO, a division of IMI Critical Engineering, has declared that it will support the first environmentally friendly hydrogen production and storage facility in the UK South West.
A new polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyser will be provided by the firm and installed at the IAAPS plant. In addition to reducing the institute’s reliance on grey hydrogen for research purposes, the IMO VIVO electrolyser, which was delivered in July 2023, will serve as the cornerstone of a regional hydrogen and Sustainable Transport Acceleration Hub to promote sustainable development in the South West and serve as a vital link to the UK’s hydrogen research infrastructure.
Proton Motor secures new orders in Mallorca
A freestanding fuel cell system based on Proton Motor Power Systems’ 50kW container solutions has been ordered for installation in Mallorca, Spain. Proton Motor Power Systems is a German manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells.
The system, which was ordered by a Spanish gas infrastructure supplier, is anticipated to arrive in the first half of 2024. It will be installed at a hotel in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, as part of the Green Hysland project.
The goal of the Green Hydrogen project is to create a hydrogen ecosystem on the Spanish island of Mallorca, integrate the production of green hydrogen with the distribution of the energy carrier to end users in the tourism, transportation, industrial, and energy sectors, as well as inject gas into the grid.
