RNV transport operatorplans to replace fleet of diesel buses with hydrogen

The Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr (RNV) transport operator in Ludwigshafen plans to eventually replace its fleet of diesel buses with hydrogen vehicles that will complement its current electric bus fleet. One particular model comes to mind for the RNV. The only vehicle to date with the hydrogen-based range extender idea, RNV has previously bought 40 Mercedes eCitaro G with fuel cell range extenders for usage in Heidelberg.

Przyjaźń Coking Plant to house hydrogen separation research installation

JSW KOKS SA and the Institute of Fuel and Energy Technology have agreed to construct and put into operation a research station for separating hydrogen from coke oven gas at the Przyja Coking Plant in Dbrowa Górnicza.

The facility will strive to create hydrogen that satisfies ISO 14687:2019 standards for gaseous hydrogen fuel used in PEM (proton exchange membrane polymer fuel cell) cars. These standards are intended to be met by the hydrogen that is produced by the installation. In the European coking sector, this initiative is exceptional. The project’s current focus is on updating and adapting the Central Mining Institute’s (GIG) existing pressure swing adsorption (PSA) installation for gas separation, including hydrogen production, to the requirements and particulars of the Przyja Coking Plant (hydrogen production on a scale of 0.5 kg H2/h).

Kgosientsho Ramokgopa: SA’s energy-mix strategy won’t include green hydrogen yet

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says SA shouldn’t expect to see green hydrogen integrated in SA’s energy-mix planning just yet.

Ramokgopa stated that it is “highly unlikely” that the department of mineral resources & energy will issue a new Integrated Resources Plan (IRP) before the end of the year to replace the IRP 2019 at the SA Green Hydrogen Summit in Cape Town.
