MAHLE Powertrain adds dedicated hydrogen powertrain testing facility
The German company MAHLE Group’s specialized engineering division, MAHLE Powertrain, is adding a dedicated hydrogen powertrain testing facility to its Northampton, England, location.
The ability to store two tube-trailers on the premises and have quick switchover capabilities between them will guarantee a nearly constant hydrogen supply. Furthermore, the center will be perfectly positioned to serve the increasing need for hydrogen powertrain development as well as testing of both light- and heavy-duty applications thanks to updated engine dynamometers with a 900 kW, 4,000 Nm nominal capacity.
