NSW presents blueprint for first Hydrogen Center of Excellence
Today, the NSW government presented the blueprint for the state’s first Hydrogen Center of Excellence, which will serve as a training ground for thousands of gasfitters and plumbers and guarantee that the state has a pool of highly qualified laborers ready to supply the hydrogen industry.
There’s a lack of plumbers in NSW and throughout Australia, so these and gas fitters are some of the important jobs that will require new skills and training to support the change to renewable energy.
In its first five years of operation, the $25 million investment will produce a practical training center that can upskill and train 8,250 gas fitters and plumbers.
Kawasaki Motors displayed motorcycle powered by hydrogen ICE
At the Suzuka Circuit in Japan, Kawasaki Motors has publicly displayed a motorcycle powered by an internal combustion engine (ICE) that runs on hydrogen.
The Ninja H2 is a research vehicle that was created and constructed in March of last year. It is powered by a Ninja 998cc in-line four supercharged engine that has been modified to enable hydrogen injection into the engine’s cylinders.
The frame of the bike was also modified to make room for the hydrogen supply and storage system.
