Koç Holding has embarked on an initiative to manufacture hydrogen-fueled trucks, marking a significant step towards a sustainable transportation future. This venture is undertaken in collaboration with German technology company Quantron.

The partnership between Koç Holding and Quantron will leverage the latter’s expertise in electric motors, batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, and energy management systems. This collaboration aims to develop a cutting-edge hydrogen-powered truck that will offer extended range, zero emissions, and superior performance compared to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.

Production Timeline and Road Testing

Work on safety regulations and standards for the hydrogen-fueled truck is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2024. This meticulous process will ensure the highest safety standards are met, paving the way for mass production. In 2025, the first prototype, equipped with Quantron’s advanced technology, will undergo rigorous road testing in Europe. This extensive testing phase will refine the truck’s performance and gather valuable data for further optimization.

Mass Production in Turkey

Upon successful completion of the testing phase, mass production of the hydrogen-fueled Ford truck will commence in Turkey. This move will not only contribute to Turkey’s economic growth but also position the country as a hub for hydrogen-powered vehicle manufacturing.
