VERBUND and Westfalen Group have inked a declaration of intent to supply green hydrogen by 2026.

VERBUND, renowned as one of Europe’s largest hydroelectric power producers, will spearhead the production of green hydrogen through its subsidiary, VERBUND Green Hydrogen GmbH. Leveraging its expertise in renewable energy, VERBUND aims to bolster its commitment to decarbonization by expanding into the green hydrogen sector and catering to medium-sized industries.

With over 40 years of experience in hydrogen-related ventures, Westfalen Group stands poised to play a pivotal role in advancing the adoption of green hydrogen. Dr. Thomas Perkmann, CEO of Westfalen Group, emphasizes the company’s dedication to fostering sustainable progress and decarbonizing the economy. By establishing electrolyzers and bolstering hydrogen production, Westfalen Group aims to position itself as a key player in the green energy sector.
