Vestas will supply turbines for 132MW wind projects in the United States.

An undisclosed wind project totaling 55MW will be comprised of 24 V120-2.2 MW and 4 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines including previously purchased PTC components. 

The order covers the supply, construction, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) service arrangement to ensure the asset’s optimal efficiency.

Turbine delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2021 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021.

Another order totaling 77MW was placed by MidAmerican Energy to repower the Pocahontas Prairie wind project in Iowa.

Vestas will repower the site’s current Gamesa G90-2.0MW turbines with 24 V110-2.0 MW and 16 V110-2.2 MW wind turbines, with a total project capability of 83 MW, with this order and previously acquired 2 MW platform parts.

The order includes supply, installation, and commissioning of the turbines as well as multi-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset. Turbine delivery will begin in the second quarter of 2021 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021.
