Vestas has secured an order of 36 MW for the second phase of the Sandy Knowe Wind Project in Scotland from ERG, one of the largest wind energy operators on the European market.
The project will consist of ten 3.6 MW V112-3.45 MW wind turbines in service mode. In November 2020, Vestas was awarded the contract for the first phase of the 50 MW project by the same client. The twin ventures will be situated in the Dumfries & Galloway Council district of South-West Scotland.

By 2030, Scotland plans to meet 50% of energy consumption in the areas of electricity, heat and green energy transport. According to the latest estimates from the national authorities, onshore wind provides around 70 percent of Scottish renewable power, followed by hydro and offshore wind as the key sources of renewable energy.
Turbine deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2022.
