VINCI’s subsidiary, Cobra IS, has been awarded a significant €74 million contract by SMS Group GmbH to undertake piping and mechanical works for Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe’s steel production plant in Duisburg, Germany.
The steel plant, set to produce 2.5 million tonnes of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) annually, represents a groundbreaking shift towards reducing carbon emissions. It is projected to mitigate up to 3.5 million tonnes of CO2 annually, aligning with Germany’s goals to adopt environmentally friendly technologies.
This initiative underscores VINCI’s commitment to advancing green hydrogen applications within heavy industry, heralding a new era of sustainable manufacturing practices.
