Through its wholly owned subsidiary Evolution Terminals BV, Vision Energy claims to be on schedule to submit the complete environmental impact assessment for its energy project in the Netherlands’ North Sea Port of Vlissingen by January 31, 2023.

The first import, storage, and handling terminal for hydrogen carriers, renewable energy products, and low-carbon fuels in Northwestern Europe is currently being built and delivered on a 16.4 hectare site by Evolution Terminals in the North Sea Port of Vlissingen.

For up to 400,000 CBM of storage for eco-friendly and low-carbon goods and fuels, the phase 1 development plan investment is anticipated to cost EUR €450 million. The project’s investment will go toward a new deep-water jetty, quay wall renovation, and facilities for loading trucks and trains. The company hopes to complete the project by the end of 2023.

The company is now finishing up the last of the necessary studies to enable submitting permit applications through the Dutch “WABO” process, with a first submission date of December 31, 2022.

The initial stage of development’s submission also includes the filing of an application for an environmental permit.

Plans for phases two and three call for increasing storage space for low-carbon goods and fuels and integrating an ammonia cracking facility to convert green ammonia to hydrogen.
