Representatives of Vos Transport Group, BCTN Network of Inland Terminals, and zepp.solutions completed the order for two distinctive hydrogen tractors during Lean & Green Summit in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The trucks have a minimum range of 600 kilometres and will be delivered towards the end of 2023. The two hydrogen-electric trucks are now being developed by Delft-based zepp.solutions. These will be the first zero-emission tractor units driven by hydrogen that are permitted to tow any trailer under current European laws.

Two N3 tractor units with the hydrogen powertrain will be employed for municipal distribution, regional container transport, and (international) long-distance transportation by Vos Transport Group and BCTN Group. TNO will evaluate the trucks’ performance in comparison to alternatives.

Lean & Green, the premier Dutch program for reducing CO2 emissions among businesses in the logistics industry, has BCTN and Vos Transport Group at the forefront. The businesses together presented the DREAMH2AUL initiative at the annual L&G Summit. The following project milestone, the signature of the order confirmation for the two hydrogen tractors, was also taken advantage of during this time.

A DKTI funding from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management supports the DREAMH2AUL initiative.
