Ways2H, a subsidiary of Clean Energy Enterprises, has made a significant breakthrough in hydrogen production. The company demonstrated the production of 110 kg of carbon-negative hydrogen from one ton of municipal solid waste.
The innovative hydrogen production process developed by Ways2H uses a unique patent-pending thermochemical waste conversion method. This technology extracts hydrogen while capturing carbon for sequestration, achieving an impressive net-negative carbon footprint of up to 30kg CO2 equivalent per kg of hydrogen. This approach addresses two major global issues: waste management and the creation of clean energy without using renewable electricity, aligning with international climate goals.
This successful proof of concept allows Ways2H to move towards commercialization. The company is exploring partnerships globally with municipalities, industries, and energy providers. These collaborations are expected to expand the availability and affordability of hydrogen fuel, with over $1 billion in potential revenue from system sales and operational hydrogen production assets.
