Transdev and the Normandy Region convert diesel coach into hydrogen

For the past three years, Transdev and the Normandy Region have collaborated to convert a diesel coach into an electric car that runs on hydrogen. This hydrogen bus, approved on February 1, 2023, is shortly going to be in use on the regional express route Nomad Car, which connects Rouen and Evreux. With its environmentally conscious approach to addressing today’s environmental issues, this program represents a first for the mobility sector globally.

First Osnabrück fuel cell garbage collection vehicle unveiled

The first Osnabrück fuel cell garbage collection vehicle was unveiled at the AWIGO depot in Georgsmarienhütte.

The AWIGO Group’s 69 trucks cover 3,694,425 kilometres in Osnabrück each year. Approximately 92 earth circumnavigations. Because of this, the waste management organization is working toward a climate-neutral future for the region.

The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport’s National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology is funding roughly 565,000 euros of the triple-axle truck’s 850,000 euro purchase. Project Management Jülich implements the financial scheme administered by NOW GmbH.

Eden gets ARPA-E funding for two projects

Eden will receive $1,400,000 from ARPA-E for two projects: “Electric-based Mechanical and Thermal Stimulation to Increase Geologic Hydrogen Reaction Rates in the Samail Ophiolite in Oman” and “Engineered Geologic Hydrogen Battery for Long-Term Energy Storage”.

The $20M ARPA-E Geologic Hydrogen program funds novel subsurface hydrogen generating technologies with a focus on cost and environmental impact. Eden will create unique accelerated geologic hydrogen technologies to increase production from iron-rich formations like peridotites and revolutionary geological energy storage systems.
