Kellas Midstream’s H2NorthEast gets first hydrogen customer
For the provision of low-carbon hydrogen, Kellas Midstream and Statera Energy, a flexible energy storage operator and provider, have inked a preliminary sales agreement. In Statera’s local power plants, it will replace natural gas.
Building a low-carbon, carbon-capture and storage-enabled blue hydrogen facility near to Kellas’ Central Area Transmission System gas processing terminal in Teesside is the ambitious H2NorthEast project. Phase 1 will supply 355 MW of hydrogen to the neighboring Statera power stations; by 2030, that amount will increase to more than 1 GW.
