World Hydrogen Leaders announce that the “World Hydrogen North America 2024” congress and exhibition will be taking place in Houston, Texas from May 21st- 23rd.

Mirroring the rapidly accelerating progress across the North American hydrogen landscape, the program has doubled in size from 2023 and will see key players across the hydrogen value chain gather to align on solutions to current challenges.

A report from the Deloitte Center for Sustainable Progress identified the potential for hydrogen growing from USD 642 billion by 2030, to USD 980 billion by 2040, and USD 1.4 trillion by 2050. But with such opportunity come challenges that need to be urgently addressed.

The 3-day event is one of the largest and most influential in the industry and will host over 1,200 attendees from organisations across the US and Canada. Representing the top hydrogen minds, over 200 renowned industry speakers will oversee panel discussions and round tables on dozens of critical hydrogen topics – and back by popular demand, a full day of masterclasses which will deeply dive into priority issues including the IRA, derivatives, electrolyzers, safety and more. Additionally, the conference will address whether the current policy levels for the US and Canada are adequate to instigate the rapid scale-up needed, as well as enlightening case studies from Texas and California.

“As the energy capital of the world, Houston sits at the epicenter of the global hydrogen landscape,” said Nadim Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, World Hydrogen Leaders. “The city brims with leading hydrogen experts and innovation ecosystems, so is the perfect venue for this influential gathering of industry leaders. And with 80 percent of speakers and attendees at VP, director or C-level roles, World Hydrogen North America has demonstrated that it not only attracts seasoned experts within the industry, but those with the capacity for real decision-making.”

The keynote speakers are well recognised hydrogen trailblazers and include Katrina Fritz, President & CEO, California Hydrogen Business Council; Frank Wolak, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association and Daniel Dus, CEO, United States, ACME, among many others.

“The hydrogen and clean energy sectors in North America have experienced an unprecedented surge over the last year, marked by significant policy shifts including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act in the U.S., and the Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit in Canada,” said Katrina Fritz President & CEO, California Hydrogen Business Council. “However, to address evolving regulations and required development of the supply chain, collaboration between industry leaders is imperative.”
