wpd has signed supply agreements with a strong group of contractors for the Guanyin 350 MW project off the Taoyuan (Taiwan) coast.
They are now ready to commence construction with planned commissioning in 2022 as soon as the Taiwanese government issues the remaining permits.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind will supply the 36 V164 type turbines including local tower output at CS Wind Taiwan.
Two Taiwanese heavyweights, Formosa Heavy Industry and CTCI Machinery will provide the monopile foundation structures with whom wpd is already cooperating in the 640 MW Yunlin project.
The foundations will be set by Seaway Heavilift with HLV seaway Yudin, while Fred Olsen Windcarrier will be responsible for installing the wind turbines. CSBC Deme Wind Engineering (CDWE), a joint venture between Taiwanese China shipbuilding company and the Belgian DEME Group, is intended to lay the submarine cables.
