In order to facilitate the implementation of Haffner Energy’s HYNOCA solution, Xebec Adsorption Inc. has entered into an agreement to provide its patented Pressure Swing Adsorption technology.

By thermalizing biomass, HYNOCA is a novel and economically advantageous method for decarbonizing and creating green carbon-negative hydrogen and renewable gases. A multi-million euro purchase order for 8 standardized PSA units was placed in accordance with this arrangement, and they will be delivered in 2023. This deal, one of the largest in terms of absolute dollar value Xebec has ever received for hydrogen PSAs, demonstrates the company’s sustained leadership in the hydrogen industry on a worldwide scale.

By signing this contract, Haffner Energy and Xebec form a cooperative relationship with the goal of increasing the generation of green hydrogen, boosting the local economy and advancing the circular economy.

“Since PSA is the most crucial technology to ensure the purity of hydrogen, we are thrilled with this new partnership with Xebec. We decided on Xebec because of the caliber of its technology and its references. This represents a turning point for HYNOCA®. According to Philippe Haffner, CEO, and Chairman of Haffner Energy, it “affirms its position as an instant and competitive alternative to manufacture super green hydrogen.”

Mike Munro, Chief Operating Officer of Xebec Adsorption Inc., said, “We are delighted to be partnering with a leader like Haffner Energy as we collectively advance towards a lower carbon future with cleaner hydrogen. With the help of our PSA technology, Haffner has created a special process that produces green hydrogen more cheaply and with a lower emission profile than conventional processes. It’s wonderful to see Xebec’s products used in these newly developing applications since we need a diversity of solutions as we deal with the larger energy shift.
