In Copenhagen, Denmark, 100 hydrogen taxis have been deployed thanks to a collaboration between Toyota and taxi operator DRIVR.
With the Danish government’s resolution that no new taxis would emit CO2 emissions by 2025, and that all cabs shall emit zero emissions by 2030, Toyota’s Mirai model stands out as the appropriate answer.
For a sustainable transportation business, Toyota and DRIVR have launched 100 Mirai on Copenhagen roads. DRIVR, a smartphone-based taxi service, has added 100 additional Mirais to its fleet, taking another crucial step toward ecologically friendly transportation. Mirai, the world’s first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell car, only emits water from its exhaust during usage, as is well known.
Taxis, which cover a large number of kilometers each day, particularly in large cities, are seen as one of the most ecologically beneficial modes of transportation. With its long range, the zero-emission Mirai helps to the development of hydrogen infrastructure in cities.
Toyota is continuing to promote the benefits and uses of hydrogen in order to promote a hydrogen-based society on the path to zero emissions. Mirai, on the other hand, stands out in the field of zero-emission electric mobility because of its longer range, simplicity of filling, and safe and enjoyable driving. The goal of these new initiatives is to enhance hydrogen transportation alternatives throughout Europe and extend filling stations.
